I'm a technologist, startup founder, named inventor, and hands-on systems consultant who has moved from Stanford StartX and a founding team through venture funding, growth to 50+ people, enterprise scale, and acquisition.
I co-founded UnifyID in 2015 through Stanford StartX, helping develop an authentication approach based on passive signals generated by people and their devices. We moved from concept and founding team to venture-backed enterprise company, growing teams from zero to more than 50 people. The company was runner-up at TechCrunch Disrupt, raised a $20 million Series A, earned recognition from RSA, SXSW, Gartner, and Forbes, and was ultimately acquired.
That experience was not only technical. It involved company strategy, venture capital, recruiting, team structure, product positioning, enterprise customers, and deciding what had to change as the organization scaled.
I'm a named inventor on multiple U.S. patents involving passive sensor-based identification and authentication, including U.S. Patent 12,711,210, issued in August 2026.
My current work focuses heavily on IoT, edge computing, embedded Linux, networking, and open-source software. The common thread is integration: connecting complicated technologies-and the teams around them-into systems that are dependable and useful.
